About Us & Our Boat
Gigha Sea Tours is based at Achamore House on the Isle of Gigha. Don Dennis is the Managing Director, while his father Reid Dennis is also a Director and Chairman of the Board. Don is the skipper of our wonderful new 8.4m Redbay RIB, and he is a fully MCA-qualified (Maritime & Coastguard Agency) Coastal Skipper.
Our boat, the 8.4m Thalassa was built to Don's specification in the autumn of 2008 by Redbay Boats of Cushendal, Northern Ireland (http://www.redbayboats.com). She has a GRP hull, and is fitted with a 315 hp Yamaha diesel engine. She is fully MCA coded Category 3 for taking 10 passengers up to 25 miles from the nearest "safe haven", and has of course met and surpassed all the safety requirements of the MCA.
